Casting

Northlight Theatre casts primarily from actors based in the Chicago area. Casting actors from outside the Chicago area depends specifically upon the demands of each individual production.

Northlight accepts submissions of headshots and resumes throughout the year, especially if you have an interest in a particular production.  These submissions should be made via mail to:

The entire 2011-12 season is cast.  AEA auditions for the 2012-13 season will be announced on the Equity website. 

Non-Equity general auditions are typically held in late May/early June.

For Equity performers:

General auditions for Equity actors are held once a year, typically in the winter. Announcements for Equity general auditions are made on the Northlight website, in Performink, and via the Equity hotline. Appointments are taken by the Chicago Equity office. Auditions for specific productions throughout the season are by invitation only.

For Non-Equity performers:

Non-Equity auditions are held once a year, typically in late spring/early summer.
