Student Theatre Arts Resource (STAR)
STAR is Northlight's comprehensive arts education program for Chicago-area high school students, complementing and enhancing standard classroom curricula and techniques.
Our celebrated STAR program has provided high school students with the opportunity to attend professional, full-scale productions at one of
Chicago
's leading resident theatres, while supporting broad integration of the arts into the curriculum with a full-range of classroom oriented materials.
Participating schools receive:
- Free advance viewings for teachers
- Spotlight On, a cross-disciplinary study guide which can be used for both pre- or post-performance discussion and activities
- A pre-performance interactive workshop at your school, scheduled at your convenience and led by our facilitator
- A post-show discussion with Northlight actors and staff
STAR tickets are $3 for Chicago Public Schools and $10 a ticket for others (teachers and proctors are always free).
