I spent the spring of 2006 in
Seattle
directing Rounding Third at INTIMAN Theatre. I had done the world premiere here at Northlight three years ago and after its Off Broadway run it became a hit on the regional theatre circuit, finally arriving in
Seattle
at Bart Sher’s theatre. I’ve known Bart since we went to TCG’s New Artistic Leadership Conference about six years ago in
Ashland
Oregon
. Since he was engaged directing on Broadway, he asked me to revisit R3 and I was delighted to do so. I had always wanted to work in
Seattle
, which is a wonderful theatre town. INTIMAN is a terrific theatre with a glorious reputation, having recently sent The Light in the Piazza to Broadway and won the Tony Award for Best Regional Theatre.
While there I was asked by Lisa Fulton, INTIMAN’s Marketing Director, to initiate a director's blog. Not only did I try it outI became addicted to blogging. So upon my return to Northlight I began my own The Retreat from Moscow blog, and have continued my new blogging addiction into this new season. Happy reading!
