As we open Fire on the Mountain, I am starting rehearsals at the Utah Shakespearean Festival where I am directing Twelfth Night. I have a wonderful cast, including Chicago's own Carey Cannon, who was nominated for a Jeff for her elegant performance as Lizzy in Northlight's Pride and Prejudice; she is playing Olivia for me. Joining her as Sir Andrew Aguecheek is the hilarious Michael David Edwards, who was in Rounding Third for me at Intiman last season.
Sunday is the day off here in Cedar City, Utah, as the predominately Mormon town observes Sundays for services, and so off we went to Zion National Park. Here are a few pictures of the unbelievable beauty that accompanies the thrill of doing Shakespeare here at Utah Shakes. I am also including some photos of the theatre, which is a replica of Shakespeare's Old Globe. We open around the 4th of July, so come on out!
More anon,
Beej
